Description

Born in Tokyo in 1928 Mori Shizume left Japan for the USA after World War Two to study in California, though most of his life was spent in Europe where he hade a speciality of drawing cityscapes, especially in Paris and Rome, many of which were made into limited edition prints. He had one man shows in New York, London, Paris and Tokyo and had work commissioned by among others, the United Nations, Smithsonian Institution and New Yorker magazine. He died in 2014.

This drawing was acquired from the artist by the late Mrs Blanaid Alen-Buckley, who was living in Paris at the same time in 1963.
