Description
An interesting selection of six digital prints of a finely developed male figure study, taken from a watercolour and wash original, two of which also have pencil drawings on the back of the sheet.
All of them feature the male figure of “Justo”, who appears regularly in Inge Clayton’s male figure studies.
1278-A (now sold) and 1278-B also bear sketches verso of a prone male figure (shown in photos 2 and 3) signed Clayton, dated I.VI, 90 (June 1st 1990) and a handwritten title “David at the Tricycle”. (The Tricycle is a theatre in Kilburn, London, recently renamed The Kiln.)
The print on 1278-B is unsigned.
The remaining four prints - 1278-C,-D,-E and -F - are dated 1986 and comprise an artist’s proof, print no. 8/100, print no. 14/100 and a print without a visible number.
Prices range from £150 to £395 depending on signature, number, image verso, and whether framed.
