A touching and - for Bratby - uncharacteristically tender portrait of his youngest son.

Dated 1969, a handwritten note on the side of the frame reads:

“Finished May 9th Dayan Eduardo Joachim Jesse Bratby”.

Bratby had named his son after the charismatic Israeli General Moshe Dayan, but the little boy didn’t like the name: by the age of six he was already telling people to call him Dan instead.
