Description

A striking high quality print, one of a series of paddling nudes by Smith,  check out ‘Waterfall with two figures’ and ‘Italian splash’ for original works in this style.

This print comes from a series of 16 created by artist members of the Chelsea Arts Club for the club’s centenary in 1991 when Stan Smith was the Club’s chairman. It is numbered HC 5/8 indicating that it was one of a small number outside the main edition, which was given to the artist to acknowledge his contribution. This print was until recently among the works owned by the notable Cornish collector, the late Jonathan Grimble.
