A very rare poster displaying an assembly of black and white photographs of eight Bellany paintings by Brian Bousfield .
The poster dates from circa 1980 is signed and bears a handwritten dedication: “For my great artist friend Stan Smith”. Stan Smith was at this time president of the London Group and Bellany had been appointed Vice-President.
The poster has very small pin holes in each corner where it was fixed for display in Stan Smith’s studio in Twickenham, but this should be regarded as part of the history of this rare work, which has also been enhanced by the marquetry frame by Harry Eagle, using a tulip wood moulding.
