Shrigley, David
About the artist
Born in Macclesfield in 1968 David Shrigley is best known for his infuriatingly humorous faux-naif line drawings and posters. His sculpture titled Really Good, featuring an enormous hand making a thumbs-up gesture, took pride of place on the Fourth Plinth in Trafalgar Square during 2016 - 2018. A recent exploit was to have several thousand copies of The Da Vinci Code pulped and recreated as a new edition of George Orwell’s 1984. There is clearly a subtle humour at work here!
The works featured here are posters.
