Gill, Eric

About the artist

Reviled but sublime, Eric Gill was one of the most original British artists of the 20th century whose reputation has been obscured by revelations about sexual activities that have little to do with his artistic talent but have provoked shock/horror salivation among the sanctimonious. A fine sculptor and master of line, he also designed the elegant, ubiquitous typeface called Gill Sans.
